Mike Burton is entering his eight season in the NFL after signing two consecutive deals with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mike spent his first two seasons with the Detroit Lions after they selected him in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Burton was named to Mel Kiper’s All Rookie Team and finishing with the 3rd highest grade among all fullbacks league-wide according to Pro Football Focus.
After a strong four years at West Morris Central High School, Burton started as a walk on at Rutgers University, but by his senior season the Long Valley, NJ native was named Team Captain. Burton was the winner of the 2014 Paul Robeson Award for performance, leadership and dedication on and off the field.
In 2015 after being drafted in the 5th round of the NFL Draft, Burton won the starting Fullback for the Detroit Lions to begin the regular season. For the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Burton was a member of the Chicago Bears before signing with the New Orleans Saints for the 2019 season.
In October of 2019, Burton was signed by the Washington Redskins before signing a contract with the New Orleans Saints for the 2019-2020 season.
In 2016 Mike Burton launched Mike’s Knights, a charitable initiative in partnership with Embrace Kids Foundation in New Brunswick, NJ to help support families battling pediatric cancer. Embrace Kids Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, exists to help families whose children have cancer, sickle cell disease or other blood disorders. Each year, Embrace Kids provides over $1.6 million in services to children and families throughout the greater New Jersey area at absolutely no cost to these families.
Burton hosts a football camp annually in his hometown of Chester NJ as a fundraiser for Mike's Knights. In addition Mike joins forces with fellow NFL standouts and Rutgers Grads, Brian Leonard, Mohamed Sanu and Jason & Devin McCourty to host the Super Rally at the Alley, a charity Bowling event in NYC that raises money for Embrace Kids Foundation programs.
